New software from Dr Boy

The Moulding Assist software demonstrates a further step towards the digitalisation of injection moulding machines. With this intelligent assistant, injection moulding errors can be signalled. The digital assistant provides the user with solutions to eliminate moulding errors directly at the injection moulding machine.

The corresponding settings pages of the Procan ALPHA ® 4 machine control are displayed practically instantly to facilitate troubleshooting for the user. When perfect parts are produced again, the intelligent software system adopts the successful strategy, automatically adapting future solution suggestions.

The BOY software Molding Assist can be displayed either directly in the machine controller Procan ALPHA ® 4, via a gateway or on any mobile end device via an Internet browser. A specially developed cooling water distribution system with electronic flow recording was presented for the first time at Fakuma.

The set flow rate is digitally recorded and displayed on the control display. Target flow rate and tolerances can be set, displayed and monitored. Of course, the Procan ALPHA ® 4 stores the corresponding process data and setting parameters for process documentation

and can be used as setting specifications for a new mould installation. BOY plans to use this functionality as standard on all its injection moulding machines with Procan ALPHA ® 4 control.

In addition to the flow rate, a temperature display with process data monitoring is optionally available. At Fakuma, visitors could get to know and try out the digital process.
